April in Italy! After the long winter, treat yourself to la primavera by waking up your legs with two days riding the Ghisallo  and Muro di Sormano climb. ComoLagoBike and Hotel Il Perlo are welcoming the spring season with a Special April cyclist's package that includes two days of cycling, three nights accommodation, meals and guided tour, email us to BOOK NOW!

Hotel Il Perlo and Lake Como will be awakening after their winter slumber so come join us when the roads and villages are still quiet and the roads are empty and calling for you to ride. On our first day we will climb to the Madonna del Ghisallo chapel and visit the cycling museum and enjoy a snack at the local caffè while mingling with the locals who consider this their most favorite destination. Then the next day we will climb high into the verdant Triangolo Lariano mountains and tackle the climb called “simply beastly, impossible to ride” by Ercole Baldini - the Muro di Sormano.

Cycling tour in Lake Como in Spring
Cycling experience in Italy in April

Featured in the Giro di Lombardia from 1960-1962, then abandoned until 2012, we enter the closed paved road after the steady 8% climb to Sormano. Don’t let the artfully stenciled leaves or meters of elevation distract you from why you’re here: at 1.7 kilometers the Muro averages 15% with a steep 27% kicker towards the finish so every pedal stroke must feed into the next. As you round the last hairpin the top is within sight! The racers don’t get to stop and enjoy the view or snacks at the caffè, but you do before following the wheel of your professional guide down the long technical descent to Nesso on the lake.

Ready for your spring tune up? Choose dates and then come prepared for la bella primavera!
